Empowering Women In Oil & Energy Operations

Bilingual, hands-on training for women seeking to build a future in the energy industry.

About Us

A Story of Resilience, Experience, and Purpose

This academy was born from a story of migration, adaptation, professional growth, and perseverance.

More than 11 years ago, as a Venezuelan woman, I made the decision to immigrate to the United States in search of new opportunities and a different professional future. Like many immigrants starting over in a new country, my journey came with significant challenges.

One of the biggest challenges was the language.

TECHNICAL OIL FOR WOMEN ACADEMY

MISSION

At Technical Oil for Women Academy, we open a clear, documented pathway for women, especially Spanish-speaking women, into technical field work in the oil and gas industry.

We train each participant in three areas:

  • The technical vocabulary of field operations.
  • A strong safety foundation.
  • The real-world field familiarity these roles demand.

All instruction is delivered in the language each woman learns best. Our training rests on two pillars:

The mind: technical mastery of processes, equipment and procedures.

The heart: the ethics, integrity and field culture that allow a woman to integrate, earn respect and grow in a historically male environment.

We believe no woman should be kept out of a technical career for lack of access to information, because of a language barrier, or because no one showed her the way.

VISION

To be the leading academy for bilingual technical training for women in the energy sector. We begin in the Permian Basin of West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico, and will expand to other producing regions across the country.

We envision an oilfield where a woman who wants to run a crew can:

  • start in the field prepared,
  • be understood from the first day,
  • and advance into leadership and supervisory roles.

We also envision an industry where the procedures every crew follows are written in both languages spoken on site, and where working safely never depends on the language you speak.

We want every graduate to return as a mentor to the next generation, so that training women for the field becomes a chain that keeps multiplying.

Four reasons this works

A training approach shaped by real operations, real language barriers, and the real professional needs of women entering this industry.

our learning path

BLOCK I. THE HEART OF THE PROGRAM: WOMEN'S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT

Preparation for entering, navigating, sustaining, and advancing a career in the energy industry. This block addresses professional conduct, ethics, communication, conflict resolution, and the tools needed to build a solid career path as a woman in the oil sector.

Its purpose is to strengthen confidence, professional judgment, and interpersonal skills in order to tackle workplace challenges and move toward new opportunities.

BLOCK II. TECHNICAL TRAINING — SEVEN MODULES

Fundamentals of Operations

Build a working map of onshore oil and gas operations and the role water plays in production. Learn the sequence from water sourcing and transfer through treatment, reuse and disposal; the purpose of tanks, pumps, valves, manifolds and transfer lines;

Field Safety

Develop the safety mindset expected in industrial environments: hazard recognition, stop-work responsibility, job safety analysis (JSA), personal protective equipment, line-of-fire awareness, energy isolation concepts, vehicle and pedestrian movement,

MODULE IIHazardous Materials and Waste

Learn how hazardous-material information is organized and used in the field: labels, safety data sheets (SDS), storage requirements, waste segregation, chain of custody, spill communication and container identification.

Environmental Compliance

Understand why field records matter and how operating information supports environmental accountability. Work with practical examples of discharge, emissions, water consumption, waste movement and incident documentation.

Applied STEM Competencies

Practice the mathematics and data interpretation used every day in the field: unit conversion, order of magnitude, ratios, flow, volume, pressure, temperature, level, basic water-quality parameters and operating trends.

Bilingual Terminology and Procedures

Connect Spanish-language comprehension with the English terminology used in manuals, labels, shift reports and field communication. Learn to translate meaning, not just words, so that nothing is lost or misunderstood on shift.

Procedure Manuals

The final module brings everything together through reading and writing standard operating procedures (SOPs): purpose, scope, responsibilities, prerequisites, hazards, steps, acceptance criteria, documentation, approval and version control.

BLOCK III. VIP ADVISORY — PERSONALIZED GUIDANCE

Private consulting to analyze specific operational issues, guide their resolution, and support the development or improvement of procedures.

This service provides a personalized setting to address specific needs regarding learning, technical documentation, and process understanding.

Frequently asked

Who can participate in the academy's training programs?

Our programs are designed for women who want to enter, return to, or advance in technical field roles in the oil, gas, and water industries. No prior oilfield experience is required. If you are unsure whether a program fits your situation, contact us and we will walk you through it.

No. Instruction is delivered in Spanish, and you will build the English technical terminology used every day in the field step by step. By the end of the program, you will be able to follow procedures written in English and write a clear shift report for an English-reading supervisor.

Concepts are explained in Spanish so you fully understand them. Each piece of equipment, procedure, and safety term is taught alongside its English name as it is used on site. Module 6 focuses entirely on bilingual terminology and procedures, so you learn to translate meaning, not just words.

The program has three blocks. Block I covers women’s professional development and empowerment. Block II has seven technical modules totaling 144 hours of live, bilingual instruction: Fundamentals of Operations, Field Safety, Hazardous Materials and Waste, Environmental Compliance, Applied STEM Competencies, Bilingual Terminology and Procedures, and Procedure Manuals. Block III, the VIP Zone, offers personalized one-on-one advisory. We also offer focused workshops on specific topics.

Yes. Our founder works as a water treatment operator in the Permian Basin, and water operations run throughout the program: water sourcing, transfer, treatment, reuse, and disposal; tanks, pumps, valves, and manifolds; basic water-quality parameters; and reading operating data trends.

The VIP Zone offers 20 hours of individual, face-to-face sessions with our founder, by appointment and available to enrolled students. Sessions cover step-by-step troubleshooting of operational problems, advanced problem-solving scenarios beyond the module content, and guidance on communication, professional conduct, and integrating into field crews. VIP advisory is educational and does not replace site procedures, supervisor instructions, or employer authorization.

Complete the contact form on this page and select your program of interest, or call or email us directly. We will contact you to answer your questions, confirm the next available session, and explain the enrollment steps.
